I haven’t watched “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” in years. The Peanut’s Halloween cartoon special always confused me as a little kid. I wanted to know why the Great Pumpkin never came to see me. Sure, I had the tooth fairy & Santa Clause, but I didn’t see why there was a mythical character that wasn’t bringing me presents. Even as an adult it makes me want to write Halloween carols.
There’s just something about this movie that makes me want to buy tons of wholesale candy & be the cool house on the street. You know the house, the one that gave out full sized candy bars instead of the “fun size” ones. The gang just makes me want to bring the magic back to everyday life. It’s a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is a reminder to never stop believing, even when it doesn’t make sense. Especially then.

Sometimes, it seems like I’ll never get ahead in business. I’ve been doing this for two years & I’m lucky to still be making it. However, I see other’s instant success & get jealous. I was inspired by Project Runway this season. For several episodes I thought that Leanne would be eliminated, but she ended up winning. The judges seemed to be really harsh on her. Her track record looked like this:
IN
LOW
HIGH
IN
LOW
IN
WIN
WIN
HIGH
LOW
LOW
HIGH
HIGH
WIN
She hung in there & ended up winning. She actually listened to the criticism that was given & it paid off big.

I recently read the quote “When at first you don’t succeed, give up. There’s no sense in being a fool about it.” Andrea from Top Design may have read this quote as well. I was shocked when she decided to leave the show last week. She’s been in the bottom every week. However, she was growing as a designer. I really felt like she was getting better. All of the other designers just do the same thing every week, but Andrea was trying to become a better designer. Besides the fact that she’s beautiful & fun to watch & the only person on the show without a huge ego. Granted, she makes me feel like I need a weight loss pill, but I still like her.
I’ve never seen anyone walk off a reality show unless there was some kind of emergency. Yes, I’ve seen several people be kicked off, but never seen someone go home just because they missed their family. She almost seemed to be saying “I know I’m just going to be eliminated next week, so I’ll leave before you can kick me off.” She was either trying to have class or she was being a big crybaby. I can’t decide which.
