Make it work

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

When I watch Shear Genius I think I can cut hair. When I watch flipping out I think I can flip houses. When I watch Project Runway, I think I can sew. I have grand dreams of looking up movers New York & starting my own fashion line.

The only problem is that I can’t in actuality cut hair. I probably can’t flip houses & I definitely can’t sew. Instead, I went to the thrift store & bought a bunch of vintage purses which I will try to gussy up. Hopefully this will help with my creative urge.

Lessons learned from La Femme Nikitia

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

When I was younger I was fanatic about Full House & Saved by the Bell. I thought that The Wonder Years was boring & hard to understand. Now, I’m exactly the opposite. I haven’t watched Full House or Saved by the Bell in years, but The Wonder Years fascinates me. I remember around the time that I was worrying about nose blackheads I absolutely loved the show La Femme Nikita.

I missed the first few episodes of the show back then & never really understood what was going on. So I got a box set even though they seemed to be a lot more expensive than other DVDs. I don’t know what I was thinking. I used to love the story line. Now it just seems like a more tedious version of Alias. I guess my main point is that I’ve learned that my tastes have changed dramatically & that’s not a bad thing.

Is reality tv worth it?

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: 1

When I watch reality shows I get caught up in the glamor. I believe the show when it says that the small cash prize will set up this person for life. I believe the competitors that it’s worth making someone’s mom cry to win this award. The prize must be worth it right? Surely they can buy a house & some outdoor furniture & never work again. I certainly hope so because they just embarrassed themselves so much that no one will hire them.

I was just reading this article about Life After Winning a Reality Show. Basically, you will become famous but the money isn’t destined to follow. I really don’t know if it’s worth it. I’d really rather make my own money & not embarrass myself.
