I’m the type of person who will read books about business. I will write plans. I will think for days before I make any decisions. It was refreshing to watch Bikini or Bust. Granted, I can’t wear a bikini let alone design one, but I’ve learned quite a few things from Ashley Paige. I laugh at times because her business seems more like a slumber party with all of her best friends.

She is the ultimate scattered brain, but maybe that’s just a sign of her genius. You can tell that she really cares about what she does & that she has fun doing it. It’s a huge success if she can make rent. I have no idea how she pays her life coach, but that really seems to be helping Ashley. Just watching the show makes me want to improve my life, have more fun, look at used Harleys. I have no idea how Ashley Paige’s business works, but it seems to. I guess my point is that I need to be more spontaneous & remember why I started my business in the first place.

I’m so dependent on reality TV that as soon as I heard about the housing crisis I immediately thought of Jeff Lewis. Jeff is the star of Flipping Out. He renovates homes for a profit & throws tantrums, & I love watching him. He doesn’t seem to adapt to change though, which is what the new real estate market would demand.

Some people are the kind that when things get hard they can buy a bus & travel around the country. Jeff Lewis doesn’t seem like that type, & it’s not a bad thing. I was shocked watching last night’s season finale when he talked about how he was going to mix up his business & do less expensive projects that he could finish quicker. There was even talk of working in Malibu. It really taught me that a big part of any business is being able to change & adapt even if it’s uncomfortable.

I heard about Ashley Paige a few years ago. She made several cameo appearances as the crazy bikini designer on Keeping Up with the Kardashians & The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency. I just assumed that she must be a successful designer because her personality had the scattered brain-ness of a true genius.

I love the TLC show Bikini or Bust because it shows that you can be great at what you do, but that doesn’t neccessarily mean money. Here Ashley is a successful designer, but she can’t pay her rent or bar tab. It reminded how important it is to love your job or your business. Hopefully, the money will follow. If not, you’ve had a great experience. You’ll always win if you have fun at work.

Life is more than bills, although it’s still a good idea to have term life insurance. I’m excited to see how things turn out for Ashley Paige. Hopefully, she’ll end up with a great licensing deal so she can keep doing what she loves & what she is so good at.
