Aunt Mary

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

Thanks to Olga Quinn

My Aunt Mary still lives up in Minnesota. I have tried for years to get her to move down south to live with us. She has lived alone in her big house ever since Uncle Clyde died in a car accident. Every time I talk with her about moving in with us, she tells me that she just cannot leave her church or her friends. And, she has that regular bridge game that she plays every Tuesday night. She says if she moved they would not have anyone to fill her spot in the bridge game. And she says that there would not be anyone to teach the three year old Sunday Schoolclass that she teaches every Sunday. I mean seriously there aren’t any more people in the world who could take her place if she left? Then there is the library where she reads to preschoolers every Tuesday morning during story time. She is one of the busiest people that I know, and she is way older than I am. We decided to get her a home security system for her house from St. Bonifacius home security ADT so at least we would not have to worry about her so much at night. She agreed to it only to pacify us. She’s like that.

Lessons from Friends

I guess I’m not in the youngest market graphic anymore. I know this because I have forgotten some of the episodes of shows I’ve watched before. Apparently, Friends is on Nick at Nite. I love being able to watch it all the time. I guess I’m just used to it being shows from the 1950s and 1960s like it was when it first started. So, Nick at Nite taught me that now I’m old.

The Real House Hunters

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I love watching the show House Hunters on HGTV. However, I always wish they had more to do with renting instead of just buying a home. I’d love to watch people hunt for houses for rent in Edmonton.

I guess since I’m a renter I can relate to it more. Usually I just end up looking online when it’s time for a new apartment. It can be difficult to even find places in small towns when using sites geared toward an entire country so I like that this site breaks it down a little bit more. You just have to click on which part of Edmonton you want to narrow your search. Home buyers aren’t the only house hunters out there.
