More Lessons From Mad About You

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

One of my favorite things is that Mad About You could actually happen to ordinary people. It’s just two average looking people (Well Helen Hunt is above average). However, it’s just a love story that shows people living their lives and sometimes it’s funny and sometimes it’s sad. Most of the storylines could actually happen to people though.

A True Make It Work Moment

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I think that no matter whether you have Healthcare Specialists Jobs or you’re a wannabe fashion designer at some point everyone has a make it work moment. It really comes down to knowing what you are made of. Sure, Tim Gunn always says this on Project Runway but last night one of the designers actually had to prove it.

You see Anya lost her money and had to either just design with muslin or just scrap up fabric from other designers. I think she scrounged up $11 to buy some fabric. However, she ended up winning the competition just because she did such a good job with the silhouette. It was a true make it work moment.

Setting Realistic Expectations

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

This is something that I’ve learned from the show Princess that is on CNBC. It’s something that is often repeated on the Suze Orman show. It really goes to show that people aren’t being mean just by making sure that their kids are good with money. First off you need to plan for not only the cost of an item but like insurance, rv repair, gas, or whatever will really increase your spending.

The host made a good point this week. She said that kids over 18 should pay rent if they live at home. This is just because it seems like the money always goes to waste anyways even if the kid promises that they are paying their debt off with it. This way they won’t really have all of their income at their disposal. This is important so they can actually move out someday.
