LA Ink Drama

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

It seems that there has been a drama shift or a drama earthquake on LA Ink. Now that Corey is gone, Kat’s shop seems pretty happy. It’s focused more on her engagement to Jesse James than on tattoos. However, I guess there always has to be drama and it’s seeped over to American Electric. I originally really loved the shop and Amy. Now, it’s just more people yelling at each other instead of tattooing. I really wish they would just let Craig be Craig. He is quirky enough to garner attention. I’d rather watch a show about selling Wholesale Insurance if it was calming.

I Wish I Could Say No

I could tell that this was the attitude that Suze Orman was taking during the “Can I Afford It?” segment. A woman called in and wanted an expensive engagement ring, I think it was $12,000 but it might have been higher. Her fiancĂ© could only afford $5,000 so she was going to contribute to her own engagement ring. Basically she was asking if she could buy her own engagement ring. Even Suze Orman was just so struck at how rude this is. Sure, you can do it, and she approved her because technically she could afford it. However, it made me sad that she wasn’t really considering her fiancĂ©e’s feelings.

Lessons Learned from Kats Book

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I wanted to read Kat’s book “The Tattoo Chronicles”. During the last few seasons of the show, it’s kind of turned into a circus that really isn’t about her at all. It doesn’t seem to suit her personality or talk about tattoos that much anymore. I’d rather watch people in a tattoo shop do their document scanning and clean up their workspaces and see what it’s really like. Basically, it has lost it’s sparkle. The book reminded me that Kat had retained hers though. It’s full of bold thoughts and bold tattoos.

My least favorite and most favorite thing about the book happens to be the same thing. I hate/love how deeply she falls in love. This book was written during her time with Nikki Sixx. I was reading it the same time that the new episode of LA Ink was starting. It was easy to see that she had the same pattern with both Nikki and Jesse, even though she claims both times that she’d never felt this way before. So it’s amazing and disappointing to find out that at the end of the day she is just a woman, like everyone else.
