Hired for TV

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

This is something that I’ve been noticing a lot when a reality show goes into its second season. I bet you can even get some reality shows with digital television antennas but I’m not sure what channels are offered. Sometimes the new hires tend to look less like actual people and more like a cast of movie stars. Case in point: Any of the “Police Women of Such and Such” a county. Sure, the new police women are still actual police women; but they also look like they are supposed to be on TV. It just makes reality TV seems that much less real.

How to Spot a Good Locker

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

This is something that I learned from watching shows like Storage Wars. When it comes to finding a good locker people go apes over wrapped items. Apparently it’s a sign that someone had good enough items to wrap and that they also took care of them. If you just see a unit full of boxes it will be more of a hit or miss type thing. Granted, I doubt I will ever attend a storage locker auction but it’s always fun to learn new things.

More Lessons from Repo Wars

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I thought that Repo Wars would just be an entertaining show that I watched for about 3 minutes and then turned off. However, the premise of this show really got to me. I love the fact that people have a chance to win their repossessed cars and that it will even be free and clear. However, my favorite part is how people react to the repo man when he first shows up. They threaten him with all kinds of objects from bats to kitchen pots.

They are so busy yelling that sometimes the guy just has to leave. He never even gets to tell them the good news. However, it’s also funny to see the people look sheepish when they hear they can win their own car. They’ll put down the baseball bat on the ground all shy like. It just goes to show you that you never know when something good is going to happen so maybe you should postpone all of that yelling until later. I don’t know if an atv can be on the show, or what they’d do if it needed utv power steering. It’s one of the shows that I wasn’t expecting to like but ended up loving.
