Lessons Learned from Wedding Movies

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

With an upcoming family wedding I can’t help but think of all the wedding movies such as Runaway Bride, Father of the Bride, My Big Fat Greek wedding and so many more. What I love about these movies is that there is always chaos, people are always over budget. The family takes over. In the end though somehow it always boils down to love and commitment and I hope that it turns out that way for brides everywhere. It’s definitely a lesson we could all learn from movies.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to watch Nine because it just seemed like anything after Chicago would be a total let down. I wasn’t really enthralled by the story line at all but I decided to pick it up. Visually it’s stunning, the story is lackluster like I expected, but it’s so pretty to watch that I didn’t care. It’s just so much to take in at once that it should probably come with a pulse oximeter. So that was my lesson of the day: if the visual effects are good enough they can really make a movie.

People Who Deserve an Award

I’m watching the Oprah Show with Octomom. Usually I just have the usual thoughts of “Why?” and “How?” and leave it at that. However, right now I’m looking at her nannies and even her friends and thinking wow. Those women must be strong to provide all this constant care. I really think they should all get something special like an award because they deal with everything around them on a daily basis for the welfare of those kids. It should be something huge like certified diamonds or a beach house. They really are some of the unsung heroes.
