Lessons Learned from Made Men

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I get a little bit of a kick out of the show Mad Men because it’s’ interesting to see how times have changed. It seems like a lot of the secretary’s jobs on that show just entails being able to lie and cover for their bosses both in the business and personal worlds. In a way I’m really glad things have gotten more professional over time because those women just never seemed to be able to win.

Lessons Learned from Murder She Wrote

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

Thanks to my new Roku box I’ve been able to watch Murder She Wrote. It uses a monthly subscription but it’s basically like legal hard drives for a TV. It’s amazing. I usually would just catch this show whenever it was on because really each episode can stand on its own. You don’t really need to watch them in order. However, this means that I never saw the first few episodes and was really surprised when I did. It really shows Jessica Fletcher going through a transformation.

For most of the show she is so confident and a serious writer who knows everything. It was good to see her feeling a little insecure and even saying that she wasn’t a writer when her nephew sent a manuscript to be published. It really breaks the formula that is used in the rest of the show.

I Guess Everyone Has Their Problems

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I was just watching Newhart and came upon a surprising revelation. You know how people always say that all couples have their problems. Today, it finally came true, well it came true on whatever day the show originally aired years ago. Sure, I’ve seen Stephanie and Michael fight. I have missed a few episodes in the later seasons after the marriage where she’s pregnant so I don’t know if they disagreed about prenatal vitamins. They usually fight about who is cuter. Sure they are self centered, frivolous, and obnoxious, but they are always together. I’m glad that eventually everything works out for them.
