More Lessons Learned from So You Think You Can Dance

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I really don’t watch a lot of these kind of shows just because I know that I’ll always be let down by the winner or they will just eliminate my favorite person. It really is just too much stress for me to handle. If I was going to watch any of them it would probably be American Idol just because I relate to music a lot more then I do to dance.

However, somehow I ended up watching this show. I really don’t think I’ll tune in every week because really my heart can’t take it. I really don’t know anything about dance but just watching the judges cry made me cry. I really thought some of the bad dancers were better than the “good” ones so it really shows what I know. I think I teared up about three times in one episode just from all of the amazing stories of triumph that almost every dancers seems to have to go through.

What I Learned from Watching West Wing

When I started this show I thought maybe it would act as fat burners for me. Like I’d start hating the TV so much that I’d just want to go outside to get away from it. I anticipated it being very boring, short lived, or overly complicated. Instead I found the show to be incredibly beautiful, hopeful, and idealistic. It probably made me cry more often then any other show ever.

It really showed all of the people behind the president and all the people behind those people. There are so many people in politics who have to work to get one person elected and keep him popular and on track. Plus, it does really help if they pick the right guy to begin with. I doubt I’ll watch the series again a second time but I was a little bit sad when I finished watching every single episode that aired.

Lessons Learned from So You Think You Can Dance

I really wasn’t expecting to learn about running a business from this show but I did. All the contestants really have the same breathless expression when they face the judges. Sure, some of them know that they are going to be torn down. They know they are going to be featured as the bad ones that the show makes fun of. However, some of these people are genuinely surprised that they aren’t good. Even the good dancers always seem to wait to smile until the second judge has complimented them to make sure it isn’t a fluke.

So whether you are good or you’re bad you really don’t know until you put yourself out there. I commend the dancers on their bravery, even the bad ones. So whether you’re after prototype 37-c reviews, inventing something new, or just starting a website you don’t know how people will react to it until you actually do it. At least they went for their dreams and found out that it wasn’t really possible instead of just always wondering.
