Even More Lessons Learned from Suze Orman

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

Suze Orman gives people reality checks. She’s not just the person who tells you what you want to hear. She tells you what you need to hear. I remember on an episode of Oprah where someone had called his car his baby. They didn’t even have furniture for the child that his wife was expecting. Suze pointed at it and said that is not your baby, that is your baby. She had to say it several times before it sunk in. It amazes me that she still has to do this on the “Can I Afford It Segment?” She basically has to say ‘No you can’t buy a boat, you have children”. Some people must be really forgetful.

One of the Best People on TV

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

One of the only reasons that I watch L.A. Ink anymore is just because of Amy. She’s just one of the most fascinating people on TV. Maybe it just has a lot to do with her makeup. I just love her and think that she should have whatever she wants in life, whether it’s cars, term life insurance quotes or money.

However, she really seems to be a genuinely caring and nice person. She really watches out for her coworkers. I think that she has one of the biggest hearts around. I definitely would love to see her have her own show. Sometimes she’s quiet, but I really do love her work. She really uses color. Maybe that’s why she couldn’t get on so well at L.A. Ink.

Who Do You Think You Are?

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: 1

I have to say that I was a little bit skeptical of the new NBC show “Who Do You Think You Are?” I really didn’t understand the concept because finding out about your family tree just sounds like a boring school project.

However, could celebrities make it interesting when they were doing the work for themselves? The answer is yes. It really is one of the most fascinating shows I’ve seen in a very long time. I really loved watching Lisa Kudrow traipse through Poland to solve family mysteries in her father’s behalf. It is really poignant because usually we hear about who celebrities are dating or what they are wearing or whether or not they need natural weight loss products. However, they are just people who come from a long line of people who also have fascinating stories even if they weren’t famous.
