Lately one of my freelancing gigs has started reminding of “The Office” or “Better off Ted” with a dash of Dilbert thrown in the mix. It’s not nearly as funny in real life as it is on TV. I’ve been thinking a lot lately how characters like Jim, Pam and Ted handle their work situations when they just don’t make sense. Mostly I just daydream about my websites taking off in such a big way that I’m my own boss. Then I can be Michael from the Office. Then I could just play with seo software all day and focus on my projects.

It has a lot to do with humor and not getting caught up in the craziness of it all. These characters maintain their sanity simply by being funny, getting their work done when their boss is occupied in some sort of scheme and focusing more on their families as a grounding force. Maybe there really is something to learn there after all.
