What Happened to These People?

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

A few years ago I was obsessed with the Dr. Phil family. I felt like I knew Katherine and Alexandra and really wanted the fixes that the good Doctor had put into this family to really work. I was shocked when after six years suddenly they are back on the air needing help. I thought that Erin and Marty would divorce but they seem to be still going strong. That isn’t really the crisis anymore. I was hoping that they’d just have a sweet update like they are all doing well . Include some everyday information like we got a dog or found the best colon cleanse or went on vacation together. Oh no, not for this family.

Both of the girls have made really bad decisions about men and life in general. Katherine has a court battle ahead of her and Alexandra is going through a divorce and probably the most intricate custody battle I’ve ever heard of. Robin even says that Alexandra is using drugs and needs help. I don’t know that if we were just lead to believe that these people would be ok on the last episodes of the original season or if they really just got off track somewhere. It’s very scary to see how people can mess up their lives.

More Lessons Learned from Dog the Bounty Hunter

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

Dog the bounty hunter has been famous or nearly famous for awhile now. He’s had his own show; he’s supposedly caught thousands of fugitives. He has his own witty sayings and life lessons. It always cracks me up with all of his experience and all of his team’s experience the fact that on almost every single episode someone asks “Where’s the Cuffs?” or “Who has the Cuffs?” or “Did we bring cuffs?” To me that would be the first rule of bounty hunting: bring handcuffs.

Lessons learned from Dog the Bounty Hunter

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I usually watch Dog the Bounty Hunter for entertainment value, not to learn life lessons. Usually I find more wisdom from the best acne treatment than from Dog. There was something he said that really struck home to me on a business and personal level. They were having trouble catching a fugitive. They were probably going around to all of the family and friends and trying to stir something up like they usually do. They always take these crazy leads. Dog said something to the effect of it’s just that one more thing that you do that makes a difference. However, we never know which thing it will be that will make the difference. (That last sentence was me not Dog.)

I really feel that way a lot in my business. I know that I can be successful so I’m always reading and trying out new techniques. Sometimes it’s discouraging and I want to give up but maybe I’m so close. Maybe I just need “one more thing”.
