Where Did Trading Spaces Go?

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I’ve anxiously been awaiting Trading Spaces to come back. I feel like a little kid sitting in front of their house waiting to go to a birthday party. I wait and I wait and no one ever shows up. At first I thought “Ohh maybe this show wasn’t in the fall. I’ll wait until winter” after months of waiting I finally decided to look it up. Granted, I put the months without Trading Spaces to good use by considering an online backup and cleaning the house.

My stomach dropped when I read the show’s wikipedia page and it used the past tense. I guess the show’s host Paige Davis said it wasn’t coming back all the way back in February 6, 2009. I guess the lesson that I learned from this is that good TV will be canceled even if it’s still good. It probably has to do a lot with viewer ship but I’ve watched the show since the day that it came on the air. I even watched all of the spin offs and it seemed like there were dozens of them. I’ll miss you Trading Spaces.

Whatever Happened to TLC?

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

First let me state that I love most of the shows on TLC. However, I really don’t think that it’s actually TLC anymore. The letters stand for The Learning Channel. I’m sure that when it started it used to be educational. Now it’s only educational if you want to learn about little people, Kate Gosselin, wedding dresses or beauty pageants. I love all of the reality shows but they really have nothing to do with learning.

If You are Ever on Dr. Phil

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

Granted, if you go on the Dr. Phil show you never know what he’ll end up yelling at you over. He may get mad at the slightest thing and just read you the riot act at the drop of a hat. There is one thing that always sets him off. If you are ever on the Dr. Phil show do not tell him that you’ll try to fix a problem. Tell him that you will fix a problem otherwise he’ll practically boot you off his stage. Don’t say you will try to go on a sales job search just eliminate the word try and you’ll be fine.
