Unknown Quote

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

Last Night in a very sleepy state I frantically scribbled down a quote for the base of a blog post. I was watching TV at the time but I can’t remember exactly what show or what it was in reference to. The quote was “Everything that is out there you chose to show.” I’ve been wondering where I was going with this or why it meant so much to me.

Was it during Project Runway? Were they trying to get the designers to take responsibility for their collections? Did this somehow speak to me as how I should represent myself?

Did it come up during a Jon & Kate plus 8 commercial? Did it occur to me that while the couple always complains about the paparazzi they seem to egg them on? During last week’s episode they showed Jon ignoring his kids while he texted then going out to the fence to talk to cute girls who wanted autographs while his kids waited to play a game.

I guess the quote is applicable to almost any show on TV. It seems so many of the reality shows then cry that they are victims of the media. I hope I remember what that quote was from soon.

Dear Reality Show Families,

You are described as reality shows. However you then shrug off realities. Whether you are on TV because you have a ton of kids or are just interesting you are still classified as a reality show. It seems that week upon week you organize all these activities, taking trips, visiting zoos. I’d really much rather see the actual reality of your lives even if it is about photo shoots and tabloid magazines for the show. If you fight show us. If you need AED show us. I can tell by watching the endless press circuits that your lives don’t revolve around cooking for your family. Get real please.

Sincerely,

Sarakastic

Lessons Learned from Matlock

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I enjoy watching the old detective shows from the 80s and early 90s. Now all of the crime shows are about gross stuff and they solve everything with DNA. They really don’t use the good old powers of deduction and intelligence anymore. I love the old episodes of Diagnosis Murder and Murder She Wrote. I bet these guys could even find the best Medicare supplement plan. Today there was an episode of Matlock on and I was surprised by his ingenuity.

He got his client free from murder charges by using the redial button to see the last person who was called from the victim’s home. Coincidentally the phone number was to the alibi of one of the suspects so they could place the guy at the murder scene. Now everything is so technologically advanced. I wonder if when police and investigators visit a crime scene they press the redial button, they should.
