Suze Orman was recently counseling a woman with a lot of credit card debt on her TV show. The woman made the mistake of talking about going out to dinner with her friends. Big mistake. If you are ever on the Suze Orman show you must have curtailed your outside activities. Suze said something like “So you’re still going out?” That’s right, if you’re in debt, no going outside for you.

Also, please stop calling into the “Can I Afford it?” segment if you don’t have at least an eight month emergency fund in a savings account. You still need to have eight months worth after you subtract the item you are buying or Suze won’t let you have it.
