It’s a Trap!

I was stunned when I was watching a True Life episode about young people who are barely making it. One girl was working three jobs and barely had enough time to even sleep. She went to see her boyfriend in Hawaii and kept hinting that she wanted to move out there, move in with him, and stay at home and cook and not really work. I can understand not working if you have kids, can’t find a job or are disabled, that’s more than a full time job. I can also understand wanting to have time to really take care of your house. However, I’d want to be well rounded when I was taking care of the house all day, have electrical supplies and everything. She made him dinner and I was yelling at the TV “Don’t eat it, it’s a trap. She’s cooking you dinner because she wants something from you”

Her boyfriend eventually asked her to move in and said he’d take care of rent etc. It seems like every time on reality TV when a girl cooks it’s to get something or prove her worthiness as a wife. I hope that being taken care of is everything she hopes it will be. It would take a really strong relationship to survive that set up.
