Last night on Jon & Kate plus 8, Kate took the little girls out for a tea party. When the children were recounting the story one of the girls kept adding embellishments, like they were all wearing funny hats.

This made me laugh because I always wanted to go to a “real tea party” when I was a kid. To me that was what adults did. When I finally became an adult I realized that there really was no such thing in my sphere. I also realized that I would probably never live in a dollhouse, although some of the manufactured homes remind me of my dollhouse with it’s blue siding. However, when I was a kid, the grown ups would’ve worn funny hats to the party too. This is one of my favorite events that the parents have orchestrated on reality television and it’s so simple, really anyone could do it. If I was a mom of all those kids I probably would’ve brought my own plastic cups and saucers.
