Lessons learned from Hoarders
The A&E show Hoarders freaks me out. It’s good motivation. It just wants me to simplify my life and not get caught up in things. I think on a deeper level it shows not to hold onto the past, instead we need to heal it. If you want to sing, give it a go. It you want to be a Tacoma car accident lawyer go to law school. Holding onto the past too much destroys the future.
Every single time I watch it I end up cleaning my entire house from top to bottom, even if it’s not dirty. I’ll obsess about whether keeping a sweater in my closet is worth it if I only wear it a couple times a year. Thank goodness that they don’t run the show about OCD right after that or I’d be a complete mess. I had no idea how the hoarding problem was affecting families. One guy was even going to go to jail for three months because he had all this scrap metal in his yard. He was saving the metal kind of like a retirement fund for his grandkids and it was heartbreaking when he got next to nothing for all his years of hard work.
