What is Jon’s Problem?

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

I wasn’t expecting what I saw on Jon & Kate plus Eight last week. I knew there would be tension about the tabloid rumors. I knew Jon & Kate would be at each other’s throats as always. Here is what I saw:

  • The couple sitting on separate couches taping at separate times. Usually they would sit together on a small loveseat. Instead, they had replaced the other person by sitting next to a large striped pillow.
  • Jon & Kate were actually being kind to each other. I don’t know if they were just checked out or putting on a show for the cameras or kids. There was a lot less fighting and more polite talk then usual.
  • I think the biggest shock was Jon’s attitude. Sure, he can be defensive. Kate said that he’s become resentful. He kept making snide remarks about how he didn’t get to go on a book tour and has to stay at home with the kids all the time. He just didn’t seem like the loving father and patient husband that he’s always been.

Will Lauren go to the Wedding?

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: 1

Lauren Conrad has always adamantly insisted that she doesn’t want to be in Heidi’s life as long as Spencer is in it. For some reason Heidi just keeps trying even though Lauren hasn’t been her friend in how many seasons?

Heidi told Spencer that their wedding day wouldn’t be complete without Lauren there. Lauren then told Audrina that she wasn’t going to go to the wedding. Audrina would need some serious sales training if she was going to get Lauren to go. In the preview for next week though it looks like Lauren is glaring at one of the bridesmaids and even wearing the same color dress as the bridesmaids. Why would Heidi want a person who hates her fiancĂ©e witnessing her wedding vows?

Jon & Kate Face Each Other

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I used to feel bad for Jon from Jon & Kate Plus 8. He constantly had to be berated by his wife and treated like a child on national TV. Now I feel bad for Kate. The season finale ended with the couple questioning whether they wanted to continue with the show. Jon was unsure, but Kate was all for it. In the interim rumors of Jon cheating on Kate have hit the tabloids. Kate seems to be standing by her man and denying the rumors. More rumors then surfaced that Kate had given Jon permission to date other woman provided he continued on with the show.

Apparently they only take a few weeks between seasons because the Gosselin family is back tonight. I remember when a season was actually a season. A show would start in the fall and end in the spring. Now it ends in the spring and starts in the summer.

The preview states tonight that “Jon & Kate will face each other for the first time.” I thought this was a funny way of putting it seeing as they are married and have all those kids. I doubt that they will openly address the rumors and for their kids sakes I hope they don’t.

I’d much rather think of them all as a happy family on outdoor pillows. I think that the show should be about the kids instead of just how bad this marriage is going to get. I really don’t see why the couple couldn’t divorce and continue the show. I don’t think that the rumor about Kate’s permission has any truth to it. If you can’t imagine raising eight kids, even more people would tune in to see a single parent raise all those kids. I hope they work out.
