The Real Paula Deen

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

I usually think of Paula Deen as the happy lady who cooks with more butter than any one person should. I love her laugh & she has a very entertaining cooking show. Her recipes always look yummy. I would cook them if I was sure that I could find diet pills that work afterwards.

She’s the kind of person that you always wish was your Grandma. I was shocked when I read an interview with Paula Deen in Reader’s Digest. Supposedly, she was an agoraphobic & could hardly leave the house for 20 years after her Mother’s death. She seems to have such a good relationship with her sons that it’s weird to think of such turmoil in her home. I think I love her more now that I know how much she has overcome. It just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover.

If only everything were as easy

I love orange accessories. The color always makes me happy during the long Utah winters. I’ve been noticing that a lot of celebrities are wearing brightly colored accessories & if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for me. Usually I really have to hunt to find something orange in my price range.

I was at Kenmar Watches dreaming about Gucci watches. Imagine how excited I was when I saw that I could shop by color. I clicked a little orange box. I thought that it would be like most stores who just have three or four orange watches. Imagine my surprise when six pages of orange watches appeared. I also really love that you can refine your search easily. You can shop by your price range, or brand. They have all kinds of brands from Badgley Mischka to Swatch. I had trouble picking a favorite watch. I really love the digital watches. The Time-it Orangecream Silicon watch won my heart. It isn’t just a watch, it’s a piece of art. It looks like jewelry & even small kids would be able to tell what time it is. I wish everything was as easy to find in orange.

What’s next for The City?

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

I was a little confused by last week’s episode of the City. Whitney always seemed to admire Olivia, or at least try & tolerate her. All of a sudden she was cracking jokes at Olivia’s expense & seemed to hate her. Granted, I’ve hated Olivia for weeks now.

Apparently, this got in my subconscious because I just had a dream about The City. Olivia was trying to get Whitney transferred to some DVF office in Ohio. As far as I know there isn’t a DVF office in Ohio. I do think the girls will eventually get a talking to, because DVF just seems way too professional to have all of that fighting & back biting going on.
