It even happens to the cool girls

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

I thought that with the movie “He Just Not That Into You” coming out we would see more of that harsh brand of relationship advice. The book really drove home the point that if a guy likes you, he will ask you out. If a guy is sending you mixed signals over a long period of time, well, he’s just not that into you.

I was watching the Real World & Devyn seems like a really cool, confidant girl. She seems to always be reading some kind of relationship book & dispensing advice. Imagine my horror when she was trying to figure out if Scott liked her. She showed him this relationship meter that she had made. Every time they went to a new level she would color in the meter up to the next line. Umm, this is the kind of thing that you hide away on your laptop computer, or in your diary. You do not show a boy that you ever have a relationship meter. EVER. Well, it just goes to show that relationship uncertainty happens to even the coolest people.

Sober House

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: 1

I was a little doubtful about Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. I felt guilty for even watching it. I didn’t want to see people who were trying to get sober just so they could be on TV again. I was pleasantly suprised when I actually watched the show. In the end I decided that it really helped people, both the celebrities & the people who viewed it. I

decided that maybe the Sober House spin off would be the same way so I tuned in. Instead, it seems more like a reality show where people are trying to launch their careers. I’m sure that a few of them are really serious about getting sober, but some of them obviously aren’t. I feel like they are exploiting themselves.

Celebrity Rehab=Good

Sober House=Not so much

Maybe reality TV isn’t for you

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

Reality TV is a fantastic way to advertise your business or get started in the industry. It seems like everyone in the Real World house is always trying to be an actor & then things never pick up. Probably because most of them lack talent. The bottom line is that we like to see how other people live & how they earn money. So whether you are selling Hydroxycut or you’re a meter maid, there’s probably a place for you on reality tv.

I just tuned into the end of a show that was focused on the people that remove the trees from houses after a bad storm. They were taking this tree off a roof with a huge crane & the manager was boasting about how his company was the best & he works so hard. Then all of a sudden one of the limbs broke off & it busted the neighbor’s window. Being on reality tv can hurt your business just as well as it can help it.
