Now, I’ve heard that it’s possible to press the power button on the remote & the picture will go away & the talking will stop. I’ve never actually tried it. Watching the commercials you would never know that we are in a recession.

I know that some parents only let their kids watch PBS so they won’t ask for all of the toys that they see. One of my favorite parts of Christmas time was the big Sears catalog. I didn’t watch a lot of TV so I’d eagerly await it’s arrival & then spend hours pouring over all of the toys. This is probably true for adults too. If we stopped watching TV would we be more content with what we have?
