What it’s like to work for Martha Stewart
Filed under: Business Lessons • Comments: NoneI usually have a stereotype of the people that work for Martha Stewart. I assume that they wear sweaters tied around their necks. I assume that they are so detailed oriented that they annoy people who don’t work for Martha Stewart. I think that they mention the fact that they work for Martha Stewart to every single person they meet. I doubt that they need appetite suppressants because they are probably too anxiety ridden to eat much.
This is just the fun little stereotype type in my head that I use to console myself with the fact that I can’t do craft projects. So imagine my surprise when Eddie, one of the contestants on Top Design, had worked for Martha Stewart previously. He fails to add that he was a food editor, not a design editor. Eddie is everything that I always thought that he would be & so much more. He gets mad if he doesn’t get first place every time & his face just falls whenever he receives the smallest amount of criticism. I love it when I’m right. Whenever I have a really bad day at work at I just say to myself, “At least I don’t work for Martha.”
