Reality TV School

Filed under: My Blogs • Comments: 1

I was a little saddened to see this article about Reality TV School. Yes for $139 & one Saturday you can take part in a workshop to help you get better at…reality TV. Maybe I should say that again. There is a program to train you for reality TV. Reality. Personally I’d rather spend the money on a memory upgrade & actually be myself.

I always knew that reality TV wasn’t representative of the real world, but this just makes it even harder to believe. They should call it amateur actor TV. I can only assume that the school goes something like this. “Ok, now eat out of the peanut butter jar with your fingers & then yell that you hate your roommates.”

More lessons learned from Ashley Paige

Filed under: Business Lessons • Comments: 1

I’m the type of person who will read books about business. I will write plans. I will think for days before I make any decisions. It was refreshing to watch Bikini or Bust. Granted, I can’t wear a bikini let alone design one, but I’ve learned quite a few things from Ashley Paige. I laugh at times because her business seems more like a slumber party with all of her best friends.

She is the ultimate scattered brain, but maybe that’s just a sign of her genius. You can tell that she really cares about what she does & that she has fun doing it. It’s a huge success if she can make rent. I have no idea how she pays her life coach, but that really seems to be helping Ashley. Just watching the show makes me want to improve my life, have more fun, look at used Harleys. I have no idea how Ashley Paige’s business works, but it seems to. I guess my point is that I need to be more spontaneous & remember why I started my business in the first place.

Lessons learned from the Baby Borrowers

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: 2

I was surprised that there was so much controversy over the show Baby Borrowers. Basically teenage couples would move into suburban homes. All of these couples expressed interest in having children. They would then take care of kids through all of the major age groups in order to get a real parenting experience. One half of the couple would have to go to work everyday.

On the reunion show last night Dr. Drew was there & there were all kinds of people arguing that this glamorized teenage pregnancy, or put the children at risk. There was a nanny present every second who didn’t intervene unless it was absolutely necessary. The real parents were able to watch their kids on a tv screen & step in if they felt it was needed. As for glamorizing teenage pregnancy I think the show tried to combat the Juno effect & really get teenagers to see the reality of parenting. I hope it worked.
