Lessons learned from The Pursuit of Happyness

Filed under: Business Lessons • Comments: None

Yes, occasionally I learn lessons from movies beyond the fact that Will Smith is a handsome, handsome man. Only occasionally. I just started watching The Pursuit of Happyness. I haven’t seen it in several months. However, I just looked at the movie case & smiled.

This movie filled me with hope & inspiration. It was like my brain suddenly had outdoor lighting installed. Lately, business has been going slow. Add to that the fact that the price of everything from gas to food has risen dramatically, I’ve been feeling a little discouraged in the business area. Then, I remember that I just need to keep going & keep dreaming.

More lessons learned from the Mole

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

During every episode of the mole I figure out who is the mole. I just know it. All the clues point towards that person. Then I watch as that person is eliminated & sent home. Oops, I guess I was wrong.

I swear that the other players should pay me money so all of their teammates can be eliminated. Whoever bids the highest wins. Plus, I’d just like to say that I’m apparently highly susceptible to creative editing. Whoever edits the mole likes to mess with my head. However, I just keep suspecting whoever they want me to suspect. Do you know who the mole is this season?

Lessons learned from Cash Cab

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I love watching the show Cash Cab which is a game show that takes place inside an New York City taxi. It’s not Who Wants to be a Millionaire? The most I’ve seen anyone win in the cash cab is around $2000. I guess I shouldn’t balk at the small amount of money, it still might be enough for Las Vegas vacations.

However, they do get a free cab ride. I just love to watch people get surprised by the flashing lights & find out they aren’t in an ordinary cab. The lesson I take from cash cab is this: an ordinary day can turn extraordinary unexpectedly. Also, if you are going to take a ride in a NYC cab, make sure you are wearing lipstick because you never know when you’ll be on national TV.
