Lessons learned from “The Real Housewives”

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

I never watched The Real Housewives of Orange County. I always felt like I was missing something because I didn’t start watching them the first season. I was like “Umm why do I care about these women?” I just couldn’t get involved. I was however fascinated by The Real Housewives of New York City. I learned:

  • It’s ok to introduce a Countess to your driver, but only as Mrs. or Countess. Don’t use her first name.
  • Don’t ever bring your husband to a girl’s night out. Ever.
  • Some people actually take friendly tennis matches seriously.
  • Every single event is a chance to climb the social ladder.

Instant confidence

The Scene: A friends wedding

The Actor: Me & all of my married friends

Time: Last Saturday

Needless to say, I wasn’t feeling confidant. I didn’t even wanted to go. I tried on every single thing I owned & just felt blah. I wanted to be able to present myself as the confident, beautiful single person I am. I didn’t want people to feel sorry for me because I love my life. Then I remembered about my black pearl princess length necklace from pearlparadise.com. The company sent it to me for free to do a paid review on it and I’m sure glad they did. They have all kinds of pearls from freshwater pearls to Tahitian pearls. I love that the company even offers a “Giving Back” program. They are celebrating ten years in business by donating $1 million worth of pearl jewelry to various charities & non-profit organizations who can auction the jewelry off for fundraisers. I’ve never heard of a company doing that before, & it shows that they really care.

Their goal is to make the beauty of pearls available to everyone. My pearl necklace came packaged in a gorgeous box with a soft cloth inside of it. Wedding season will be here before you know it & they have a fantastic selection of bridal jewelry like this White Akoya Pearl & Diamond pendant that retails for $1,420 but is only $278 at Pearl Paradise. I will definitely have my pearl necklace for years to come.

Lessons learned from Father of the Bride

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

It seems like every single time I look at wedding pictures that are only a few years old I notice how dated they are. Of course I’ve been planning my wedding since I was four years old, but I still haven’t found the groom.

So, I think it’s better to have a classic wedding complete with wonderful pictures, a perfect honeymoon & travel health insurance. I was just watching The Father of the Bride with Steve Martin & the wedding is as pretty as I remember it even though it was filmed in 1991.
