How Old is Janice Dickinson?

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I knew that Janice Dickinson is the world’s self proclaimed supermodel. According to wikipedia:

Her manager, concerned that at the peak of her modeling career she was doing too much work, told her, “You are not superman.” Dickinson replied, “I am not superman, I am a supermodel”.

So I knew that Janice was older. I had no idea that she was born February 15th 1955, meaning she’s 53. I can’t decide if she’s aging gracefully or not. She’s admitted to having a tummy tuck. I know when I see someone who is trying to dress like her (tight jeans rolled up on the bottom, with high heels) they look older or just plain silly. I guess Janice is so beautiful because you can’t really compare her with anyone else or tell how old she is.

Lessons Learned from The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency

Filed under: Business Lessons • Comments: None

I learned a very important business lesson from watching the two part season finale of The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency. Janice Dickinson was willing to get in a legal battle with her partner Peter Hamm. Of course Peter Hamm didn’t take it very well. He even said that he would fight over the name The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, even though it’s her name. I wish he would’ve been more graceful.

However, it’s taught me that if you go into business with someone, you better have the same vision. From the beginning it seemed like the difference between a beer pong table & caviar. Janice & Peter always clashed over high fashion & commercial models. In the end, the people that worked with Janice & Peter lost out. This included both models & clients. Janice & Peter were constantly bickering & mis-communicating to the point it almost cost them clients. A shared vision is that important.

TVs best couples

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

Around this time of year we stop worrying about student loans & start thinking about who are the best couples on TV. A few years ago there was a major article about the best TV couples of all time. It would be really helpful right now if I could actually find this list.

Of course it listed Sam & Diane from Cheers. However, Luke & Lorelai from Gilmore Girls also made the list. I’d have to wholeheartedly agree & not just because I run a Gilmore Girl’s fan blog. It was so nice to finally see this show recognized as one of the greatest of all time.
