Kat Von D & LA Ink

Filed under: Business Lessons • Comments: 1

I love watching the show LA Ink. I haven’t posted about it yet because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. There were two ways it could go:

  • An awesome shop full of awesome girls create awesome tattoos & remain awesome friends.
  • An awesome shop full of awesome girls create awesome girls & then leave or get fired because friends can’t/shouldn’t work together.

At first I thought that they were going to break the mold & work out. However, Hannah seems to be upset by a lot of things such as the lack of organization & the huge skate ramp Kat built in the shop. Kat doesn’t seem to think that Pixie works hard & has already threatened to fire her. I was really hoping it would work out, but time will tell.

Lessons learned from Audrina

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

Ok, so I’m still thinking about The Hills even though the season is over. It’s not my fault that TV is in a very sad state right now. I always thought that Audrina’s boyfriend should own luxury watches & drive a nice car, or at least bathe. Instead she kept going back to “truth & time will tell” Justin Bobby. Audrina always acts like she’s halfway in a coma, or sleep walking/sleep talking/sleep acting.

The only time she shows any emotion is when she screams “That’s it, I’m done”. The only problem is that she says this all the time & then she goes right back to whoever/whatever she was done with. This gives her little to no credibility. So either stick to your word or just don’t say “I’m done.”

How much money do models make?

Filed under: Business Lessons • Comments: 3

supermodel.jpgModels have always been looked up to. Not only do we envy how skinny they are, it just seems like they have this glamorous life style. They seem to always have the nicest cars & be able to go shopping whenever they want & not have to think about getting a new tv lift cabinet for their house.

So I was shocked on the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency when a model had spent the night in her car instead of a hotel. I was even more shocked when the models didn’t know how much they were getting paid for a high end two day shoot. The rumors were that they were only going to make $250. They thought they should make at least $1,000. Peter Hamm assured them that it would be at least $600 each & the models didn’t strike so it must’ve been ok money. They don’t go on shoots every day. Especially when you consider that you may be giving up your high school/college years & you can only work a few years in the industry. I always thought that you would make enough money as a model that you wouldn’t have to worry about working when you are forced into retirement. Maybe their lives aren’t as glamorous as I thought.
