Who was sent home on Project Runway?

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

Just a quick lesson from Project Runway tonight. If you are competing to show your collection at fashion week & Tim Gunn looks at your collection & says in the nicest possible way “That’s ugly change it” then you should change it. Chris didn’t do this. Sure, his human hair skirt was kind of pretty.

Then I thought about it. Would I really want to have to flat iron my clothes when a fake fur would’ve work just as well? I hated to see Chris go, he was one of the few humble/happy people that has ever been on the show. Listen to Tim Gunn or you will be eliminated.

Lessons learned from Super Nanny

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

I don’t have kids, but I still like to watch Super Nanny. I just love to see inside real people’s houses & peer at their decorations & whether they have an Emily crib. The family is always skeptical & thinks that they are beyond help.

I’m skeptical too. Surely this is the family that the idea of time out just isn’t going to work for. They’ve usually tried time out before to no avail. However, they don’t call her the Super Nanny for nothing. They always show an update of the family afterwords being all cheesy & happy. Her technique seems to work every single time.

Lessons learned from Wife Swap

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I didn’t watch the show Wife Swap because I was always plagued by the question “What if they like their new wife better & want to keep her? What if they like their new house or the new car has billet grilles & they hate their actual life even more than they already did?” I wasn’t really aware of the concept of the show which is letting families really appreciate what they have & giving moms an opportunity to experience how other families run. Plus, I get to see families who are pirate or ghost hunters & that is just plain cool.

The families are always different & outrageous, but the plot is usually the same. A mom who does everything for her children/husband swaps lives with a career oriented woman who is married to a stay at home dad. Both of the moms learn how to find balance but still fight with each other at the table meeting. Tonight’s episode was heart wrenching when a Mom from the South was called “less intelligent” by her swap son. Thanks but I’ll just stick to swapping books.
