Lessons from American Princess

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

Here a few lessons that I learned from American Princess this season:

Actual royalty especially in beau form is really annoying. They always have bad hair & are pretentious. Leo was actually really cute but I think he was just the son of a wealthy banker, which is fine in my book.

Why don’t these girls practice beforehand? A little preparation goes a long ways. Obviously they can’t know all of the challenges that they’ll face. However, they could at least practice eating with the right utensils, dancing & making tea.

I’ve always wondered what a real ball is like. Both in this season & in the commercials for Australian Princess it showed the beaus suggesting a game where the princess’ are supposed to pick a paper bag off the ground with their teeth. Is this just standard royalty tomfoolery? That wasn’t what I imagined a ball to be like.

A little humility goes a long ways. I was really glad that Cassie won this season, even though she was berated for being shy & having low self confidence. It seemed at the end that the judges finally realized that she just is a humble person which is a novel concept for reality TV.

I really love tiaras, but I already knew that.

The best & worst of the hills

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

After watching last night’s episode of “The Hills” I’m even more convinced that Lauren Conrad is a good friend. However, she’s a little naive about Brody, he’s pure evil. I really admired how she went to Audrina & apologized. Yes, she apologized for the fact that Audrina’s boyfriend is evil & rude.

Audrina must have been channeling Heidi. Audrinia didn’t apologize. She then went to Justin Bobby (Yes, I called him Bobby I hope he doesn’t read this blog & then unleash his wrath of the truth & time will tell philosophy). Anyways Audrina went to Justin Bobby & told him that she told Lauren to just back off & it’s her life & she’s going to do what she wants. Umm did MTV just edit that part out? All I saw was her giving Lauren a totally blank look. If she actually said that there would have been soundbytes all over the place.

Dear Audrina,

You have no personality. I was hoping you would at least be a good friend.

Sincerely, A MTV viewer

If I could be friends with anyone…

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: None

The Hills has always been a guilty pleasure for me. I’m a little older than the people in the show so I feel like I should really be beyond that. However, I just tune in every week because it’s so unbelievable that Heidi is still with Spencer. Surely she watched season 2 & noticed all of the things that he lied to her about?

Anyways, I am also surprised at what a good friend Lauren Conrad is. She’s very loyal & involved in her friend’s lives. She’s always the shoulder to cry on. She’s really a perfect friend, maybe I don’t have be too ashamed to watch The Hills.
