Real? World

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

I’m used to The Real World being absolutely nothing like the actual real world. However, it’s even more bizarre to see all of the roommates encouraging Shuavon to leave Sydney “If it’s love”. If it’s love maybe your fiancee/boyfriend wouldn’t be asking you to give up a once in a lifetime chance.

At least we get a new roommate now. I won’t even start on how Parisa tries to get in on every single boy that her other roommates talk to. It’s just too embarrassing to watch. So much for her being the level headed one.

Lessons learned from wifeswap

Filed under: Lessons • Comments: None

This summer was the first time that I watched Wifeswap. For some reason I just found the idea morally repulsive. However, I really fell in love with the show when I actually stopped being a TV snob & tuned in. Here are a few lessons I learned:

There are some weird weird people in this country. There are people who don’t use toilet paper & other people who literally dress & live like pirates.

There is always something to be learned. Usually the families just make very small strides after the swap but they are still strides.

Sometimes you have to go through crap or live with a family who doesn’t believe in toothpaste to learn gratitude.

If your worst dreams come true they might not be as bad as you think. It seems like every wife says “I wanted to go anywhere except for ____”. They end up in ____. In the end, they learn to try new things & they have one less fear.

Dating Lessons From the Office

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: 1

No, I’m not talking about Pam & Jim. I’m not even talking about how Jan was willing to literally get on a train with Michael so he could start a new life. I’m talking about Angela & Andy.

Granted, I wouldn’t usually learn anything from Angela because I’m scared of cats. However, I laughed when she went up to Andy & said something like “You can ask me out to dinner”. The dating game would be so much simpler if people just did this. In fact, it wouldn’t be a game anymore. So Adam Brody if you’re reading this, you can ask me out to dinner.
