Dean was one of my favorite guys on “Gilmore Girls”. That’s saying a lot. Here are some lessons that I learned from Rory & Dean:

There is such a thing as the right guy, wrong time. If Rory were a real person (I really wish that she were.), she would have been missing Dean like crazy in about twenty years. He was a genuinely nice person, but Rory still had some growing up to do.

Don’t throw everything away for a boy. Yes, it seemed like Rory & Dean would be together forever. However, they were both dedicated to Rory getting into Harvard, that was where their focus was. It was a good thing too because Dean & Rory didn’t last.

Trying to be friends with an ex boyfriend, especially if he’s married, is not such a great idea.

Sometimes, nice guys do finish last. Then they get their own TV shows.

The actors that played Rory & Jess dated for several years in real life. Jess on “Gilmore Girls” was either the kind of person that you love or hate. I never could make up my mind whether I loved him or hated him. Here are some lessons that I learned from their relationship:

You can’t change someone. Even if they are wrong. If the person is not a big talker to begin with, that’s not going to be any different. You either have to accept it or move on.

Don’t compare your current boyfriend, to your previous one.

Every time you are about to get over your ex, he will come back & confuse you. Even years later. Boys that are bad for you just have that radar. Every single time.

Sometimes, you just have to date a guy to get him out of your system. Even though everyone else hates him. It’s what you see that matters & living your life with no regrets.
