Love Lessons Learned from JB Fletcher

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: 1

Jessica Fletcher from “Murder She Wrote” may not be the obvious choice to learn romance lessons from, but we can pick up on the following:

  • Trust your gut. Jessica always seems to be surrounded by murderers but she knows who is bad and who is good before she even knows the facts.
  • Be loyal to your friends or boyfriends. It seems like everywhere JB goes one of her friends or love interests is accused of murder. If your gut says that this person is good then try to find out what really happened before making judgments and throwing away a relationship.
  • Put yourself in different situations. Jessica’s constantly going on vacations or going to visit friends. She has a full life even though she’s not in love. She then opens herself up to meeting lots of potential suitors and she just has a very full life.
  • You are never too old to find love.

I bet that you will never look at “Murder She Wrote” in the same way again. I’m terribly sorry about that.

A family that fights together

Filed under: Relationship Lessons • Comments: 1

A family that fights together, stays together. The Simpsons may not seem like the example of a perfect family. In fact, they often been put down for their violence & sarcasm. They’ve been blamed for society’s seeming decrease in family values. I know several families that have banned the show from their homes. (It’s not my fault that it’s so funny).

So I smiled when a local religious leader said “The thing about the Simpsons, is that they always work it out in the end”. It’s true, the Simpsons fight, real families fight. In the end though, they help each other to find a solution to whatever zany problem they are having. At least they haven’t just checked out of their relationships, they still care. Ok, so maybe they aren’t the perfect role models, but it’s not my fault that they are so funny.

Business lessons learned from JB Fletcher

Filed under: Business Lessons • Comments: None

Angela_Lansbury.jpg Granted, we never saw a lot of Jessica Fletcher actually writing on the television show “Murder She Wrote”. None the less I still learned a few business lessons from her.

  • Jessica did what she was good at. Even though the episode seem like they were the same every week she always got the job done, so we kept tuning in, even though she doesn’t look like Tyra Banks. We knew that every week an uncooperative police man would agree to hide in the closet and pop out when Jessica needed help. We knew that the first person that was accused of murder was not actually the murderer. Jessica was just a likable personality that we could watch over and over.
  • She doesn’t let people stop her from doing her job even when she’s considered nosy or they say she isn’t wanted.
  • Jessica’s observant, she pays attention to things that other people just overlook or take for granted. She digs deeper even though it requires more work, time and difficulty.
  • Jessica is brave. I’m sure that hunting down murderers is even out of her comfort zone.

However, I think the biggest lesson that we can learn from J.B. Fletcher is that when there is a job that needs to be done someone needs to do it & do it well.
